Lucic: Telekom Srbija and Newsmax Balkans Conquering Europe
The CEO of Telekom Srbija, Vladimir Lucic, and senior executives of Newsmax TV have reached an agreement in New York to expand the American media network into Eastern Europe, with the headquarters for the entire project to be based in Belgrade.
Lucic stated that during his recent visit to New York, he arranged for Newsmax Balkans to grow into Newsmax Europe, which will initially cover all of Eastern Europe.
"I believe this is Serbia's biggest journalistic challenge ever, because from our headquarters in Belgrade, we’ll be covering Eastern Europe. In effect, we will expand Newsmax from Poland to Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania, all the way to the countries of the Western Balkans," said Lucic.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax Balkans, former governor of the U.S. state of Illinois Rod Blagojevich and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik discussed, among other topics, the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He added that the initial focus will be on Eastern Europe, followed by an expansion into Western European countries.
"We hope that once we complete this Eastern Europe phase, we will move on to Western Europe. The plan is to launch Newsmax in all the mentioned Eastern European countries by the end of 2026," Lucic said.
He also noted that preparations are underway for another major project in the United States and expressed confidence that Telekom will quickly reach at least one million users there.

He announced that Telekom, through Arena, will soon be launching several new channels.
"We’re launching two new sports channels specifically for the Western Balkans. We have plenty of content ready, and as part of the preparation for August when the leagues begin, two new premium Arena channels will be launched on July 15 – Arena Tennis and Arena Motorsports – so users will be pleased," said Lucic.
"In general, we have good cooperation with U.S. institutions, such as the U.S. EXIM Bank. We are the first operator in Europe with an arrangement with the U.S. Export-Import Bank. We are bringing the U.S. export bank to the Western Balkans, which will help attract new American investments, since they finance U.S. exports," Lucic said.

"In New York, we also had a meeting with Meta, and we’re establishing direct cooperation to better promote ourselves. We’ve now become an international company present in 12 countries, where marketing – especially through Google and Meta – is very important to us. So, we took the opportunity to arrange a direct meeting to improve our cooperation with them," Lucic told TV Prva.
He emphasized that Telekom Srbija has always maintained an open and honest approach and is a company oriented toward exports.
