Potocari Marks 30 Years Since the Srebrenica Massacre: "So That It Never Happens to Anyone Again"
The 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre is being commemorated at the Potocari Memorial Center. More than 6,700 victims have been buried at the center, and at least 1,200 people are still missing.
In silence and sorrow, with the presence of families, seven more victims — whose remains have been identified and found, though not completely — will be buried. A commemoration was held for all the victims, attended by many citizens, delegations, and high-ranking officials.
Leaving a Better Future for Younger Generations

Returnees Prove Coexistence Is Possible
Newsmax Balkans reporters spoke with locals who returned to live in Srebrenica after 1995. They said they always considered this place their home and that they are proof coexistence among people can be sustainable and functional.
"We who returned must be very wise. We have to overcome the negative messages, because those aren’t messages from the entire Serbian people. We should stay here, live on our land. I came back to live here because I work with young people in Srebrenica, and I see that children especially want to live here in peace, without any problems, and without the burden of the war-torn past," said Begija Smajic, a councilor in the Srebrenica Municipal Assembly.
