Serbia Welcomes Hostage Release Announcement, Including Alon Ohel
Serbia welcomed the news of a ceasefire agreement that includes the return of all hostages to Israel, especially the Israeli Serbian captive Alon Ohel, President Aleksandar Vučić said.
"We are deeply relieved by the news that our citizen, Alon Ohel, could be among those to be released in the first phase of this arrangement,” Vučić told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.
He added that Serbia has followed his situation with great concern from the very beginning and has quietly, through diplomatic channels, supported efforts aimed at his safe return.
Back in May, Vučić revealed to The Post that he had personally reached out to Arab leaders seeking their help in securing Ohel’s release.
