Upon taking office, General Stasi stated that it was a great honor to be appointed as Head of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade.

He emphasized that NATO’s partnership with Serbia is based on Serbia’s requests, with the Alliance fully respecting Serbia’s policy of military neutrality.

"Our office has always done everything within its power to facilitate cooperation between the Alliance and Serbia within the framework of the Partnership for Peace program, and today I can reaffirm our firm commitment to further enhancing political dialogue and joint activities with our Serbian partners," said Stasi, who is the 13th Head of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade.

The outgoing Head of the NATO Military Liaison Office, Italian Brigadier General Lodola, handed over the mission flag to General Stasi and wished him success in his new role.

"I feel that I have received far more from Serbia and the Serbian people than I have given to them," Lodola stated.

He also recalled that next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade.
