All forecasts indicate that 2025 will be a record year, with a three percent increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year, and that the record of 4.5 million passengers, set by the former JAT, will be surpassed.
The achievement is even more significant considering that the former company operated in a much larger market than the one Air Serbia serves today. With over 47,000 flights operated, four percent more than last year, Air Serbia continues to develop successfully even in challenging market conditions.
“This is a historic moment for our company. We have broken records and shown that the domestic airline can compete with the leaders in the aviation industry. The economic impact of Air Serbia on the total GDP of the Republic of Serbia amounts to about 1.4 percent, which confirms the importance our company has not only in air transport but also in the overall economic development of the country. Our focus remains on the quality of our service, expanding the destination network, and strengthening long-haul flights. Aviation is a dynamic field, and Air Serbia is a strong and stable company that continues to grow. Our goal is to welcome 2026 with even more ambitious plans and records”, said Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.
By introducing seasonal and themed routes, the national carrier addresses the needs of different market segments – business travellers and passengers with specific interests. Opening new markets, enhancing business opportunities, and promoting tourist exchange have been achieved through the development and diversification of routes.
Long-haul flights to New York, Chicago, Guangzhou, and Shanghai have attracted strong passenger interest, as has the already announced and long-awaited direct Toronto service, with the first flight scheduled for 23 May next year. During 2025, the network was expanded with six new destinations, some appearing on Air Serbia’s map for the first time and others restored after a multi-year pause. Air Serbia has announced the introduction of six new routes in 2026, ensuring that even the most demanding travellers seeking adventurous destinations will be satisfied.
