Vucic with Erdoğan: I Believe We Have Returned Serbia–Turkey Relations to the Paths We Built Over the Years
The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, met at the Presidential Palace in Ankara with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Vucic stated that he believes that today, together with Erdoğan, he has returned Serbia -Turkey relations, as he said, to the best paths that were built in previous years.
Vucic told reporters that he has known President Erdoğan for a long time and that they have become sincere friends, even though they do not always have to think the same about everything.

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met with MMA fighter and world champion Islam Makhachev to discuss the importance of sport as a foundation of a healthy society and the role that elite athletes play in motivating young people to develop discipline, responsibility, and perseverance.
"But we have never entered into personal conflicts or anything similar, and I believe that today we have returned the relations between Turkey and Serbia, or Serbia and Turkey, to the best paths that we built in previous years", Vucic said.
The President of Serbia expressed confidence that an agreement will be reached with Turkish partners regarding the signing and ratification of the PEM Convention, which will be very important primarily for Serbia, for Kragujevac, and for the Stellantis factory.
"If that happens, we will significantly improve the prospects for the "Fiat Panda" and for the long-term survival and continuation of the Kragujevac factory", Vucic said.
He also added that he expects Turkish President Tayyip Recep Erdoğan to visit Serbia in three or four months and that he believes many important documents will be signed at that time.
Joint Declaration Adopted
At the meeting, a Joint Declaration of the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Serbia was adopted, expressing satisfaction with the progress achieved in bilateral relations in recent years and defining directions for cooperation in the upcoming period.
The Joint Declaration emphasizes that the visit took place at a time when uncertainty and vulnerability dominate both in our region and globally.
Within that framework, in addition to discussing bilateral relations, the two leaders also had the opportunity to exchange views on current global developments.
