The ambassadors of EU member states did not give the green light for the opening of Cluster 3 on Wednesday.
At the meeting on Wednesday, there were eight countries present: the three Baltic countries, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Croatia, and Bulgaria.
"If God asked me what we did wrong to the Bulgarians, I wouldn't know how to explain it to you. It seems to me that I understand what the real reasons are, even though you'll never hear them. As for the Croats, I understand everything, I have no big problem with that. For us, there are two important pieces of news: to continue fighting and talking with all of them," said the President of Serbia.
He emphasizes that it is extremely positive that Germany is absolutely in favor of opening Cluster 3, while France and Italy have also been and remain in favor of it.
"Thank you if they open Cluster 3 for us. Thank you even if they don't. No problem. Next year, we will aim to be the fastest-growing economy in all of Europe," Vucic stated.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, said that Serbia deserves for Cluster 3 to be opened in negotiations with the EU and added that Serbia will continue fighting for this and is already working on opening other clusters.
"We will continue fighting, but I think it would be extremely unfair not to open Cluster 3 this year. If that doesn't happen, we will keep talking and during the Polish presidency, we will see if we can open it as soon as possible. Meanwhile, we are already thinking about and working on opening other clusters, preparing, and not giving up," Brnabic told reporters in Brussels.
