The President of Srpska Lista, Zlatan Elek, confirmed that the Central Election Commission, at its meeting on Monday, did not grant Srpska Lista the right to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for February 9, 2024.
"We believe this was done under Albin Kurti's orders to prevent the participation of Serbs in the elections. This decision has no basis in law and is proof of how much Kurti wants to eliminate Serbs from this region. Kurti does not want to see members of Srpska Lista in the parliament," Elek stated.

AutorHe added that, although the decision is illegal, it was made because Srpska Lista is accused of using the term "Kosovo and Metohija" in a video advertisement – a term that is entirely legal as it represents a toponym.
"I said, instead of Kosovo, the Republic of Serbia. I am proud of those words, and I firmly stand by everything I said. This clearly shows how much Srpska Lista is a thorn in Kurti's side. This is not a violation of the law and cannot result in our elimination from the electoral race," Elek emphasized.
He stated that they will fight this decision using all political and democratic means. "During the day, we will file an appeal with the Election Panel, and we expect a clear decision from them to overturn this undemocratic decision by Kurti. I would like to thank all citizens, President Aleksandar Vucic, and the U.S. Embassy, which condemned this decision," Elek concluded.
