Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic congratulated Donald Trump on taking office as the "responsible and difficult task" of President of the United States and wished him success in his new term.
"I look forward to cooperation and believe in your vision of a world where peace, freedom, law, and justice prevail for all. In these efforts, Serbia will be your reliable partner and friend. You have always had the greatest support in all of Europe from the citizens of Serbia, and therefore, Serbia expects and hopes for exceptional and close cooperation," Vucic wrote on the social media platform X.
He emphasized that he is confident the new U.S. President will "bravely face all challenges, as he always has," and continue to "strongly fight for the prosperity of the United States and global peace, building bridges with those who share the highest moral, traditional, and statesmanlike values with you."
Trump took the oath of office yesterday as the 47th President of the United States.
