Bertrand Cluzel, a political and economic analyst and former advisor to the President of France, stated in an interview with Newsmax Balkans that Serbia's hope regarding its path to the European Union (EU) is "significant and important."
"From my perspective, I want Serbia to be part of the EU. However, the truth is that deepening European integration has become more important than enlargement. It is a necessity. The EU’s response to crises has been more about deepening rather than expanding. This is quite clear. In this context, it is difficult for a country like yours, like Serbia, to gain entry into the EU. That is entirely true," said Cluzel, who is also the editor of the oldest French journal on politics and parliamentarism, as well as the director of the Eranos Academy.
President Aleksandar Vucic stated after a meeting with the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani that he is grateful for his visit during a difficult time and added that they discussed regional issues, as well as the internal situation in Serbia and protests.
