Newsmax Pushes Boundaries – Successful Interview Conducted from Studios in Three Countries
On Thursday, April 10, Newsmax did something that has never been done in this region before – we successfully conducted an interview with the President of Serbia from studios located in New York, Sarajevo, and Belgrade.
Newsmax Balkans television, which began broadcasting in October of last year, recently launched a dedicated channel in Bosnia and Herzegovina and started broadcasting in Montenegro, where a newly expanded bureau was opened.
With its headquarters in Belgrade, Newsmax Balkans also covers six other centers – Novi Sad, Nis, Kragujevac, Zajecar, Cacak, and Gracanica.
As stated on the show "Stav dana" (Position of the Day) by Stanko Pevac, host and editor of the news program on Newsmax Balkans, the goal of a strong news network in the Western Balkans is to help people better understand one another, to encourage old and spark new positive relationships, as well as cooperation.
On March 24th the Newsmax Balkans channel launched in Bosnia and Herzegovina and programming also began airing in Montenegro. The editor-in-chief of Newsmax Balkans Milan Zoricic explained that the idea of uniting the Western Balkans under one media umbrella has been present from the very beginning.
In less than three months since its launch, the Newsmax Balkans portal has achieved great success - winning 7th place in the audience vote for the best regional news portal of 2024, while the jury ranked it in 8th place.
Bianca de la Garza, a journalist with the American television network Newsmax and host of the show "Newsline", who took part in the joint interview with the President of Serbia, emphasized that information is not only powerful, but that the truth is "contagious."
"Everything begins with journalism. I know why I got into this profession – to give a voice to those who don’t have one," she said.
Editor and host Ika Ferrer Gotic reminded viewers that Newsmax Balkans has a small but dedicated team of journalists in Sarajevo. According to her, they tackle sensitive issues, and she emphasized that balanced reporting is needed by everyone in the Western Balkans.
We are a media partner of the American television network Newsmax, which is breaking records in the U.S. According to Nielsen data, Newsmax’s viewership in the first quarter of this year increased by 50 percent compared to the same period last year. With over 33 million viewers, Newsmax ranks as the fifth most-watched cable channel overall, and fourth among news channels specifically.
