In his statement, Petkovic noted that the Kosovo police first entered the New Public Utility Company in Strpce, followed by raids on branches of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, the National Employment Service, and the Republic Health Insurance Fund in Leposavic. Employees present at the time were subjected to questioning, which led to one employee in Strpce falling ill.
“All of this is happening in plain sight of the international community, which is silently watching the terror against Serbs and the continued persecution of our people,” Petkovic emphasized.
He pointed out that the functioning of these institutions and branches is vital to thousands of beneficiaries of various types of assistance and entitlements, and that dozens of employees are now at risk.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that Belgrade expects an immediate and unequivocal response from the international community, especially from representatives in Brussels, and warned that such actions by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti directly endanger the Brussels dialogue and any prospects for normalizing relations.
