Christopher Ruddy: We Are Proud and Impressed by What Newsmax Balkans Has Achieved
Founder and the owner of Newsmax Christopher Ruddy, during his visit to Belgrade, emphasized that he is impressed with what Newsmax Balkans has accomplished in such a short time.
"You have become a major force in a very short period across the region. So we are extremely proud. Newsmax has become one of the leading news brands across the U.S. in a very short time. You are becoming a leading news brand in Europe. But people across Europe want news. They want real news for real people. And I think more and more will turn to Newsmax Balkans, and we hope you’ll expand your reach just like Newsmax is expanding its reach in the U.S.," Ruddy stated in a brief interview.
In two days, it will be seven months since Newsmax Balkans started broadcasting in Belgrade, and Ruddy highlighted that everything so far has been done professionally.
"The most important thing in news is content — what information you provide to the public and how it’s presented. And you people are doing a fantastic, truly great job. We have a problem in the U.S. because the media often isn’t fair and balanced. That was a big problem for President Trump, for example, as the media was essentially against him. And I think what you’re doing is providing real, honest news to the public here. And you have an incredible story to tell," he said.
Ruddy pointed out that both Serbia and the U.S. are democracies, and “people in a democracy need accurate information to make decisions.”
"And if they get the right information, they can make the right decisions. That’s our job as journalists. It’s not to tell people how to think, but to give them the options," he added.
On Thursday, April 10, Newsmax did something that has never been done in this region before – we successfully conducted an interview with the President of Serbia from studios located in New York, Sarajevo, and Belgrade.
Newsmax Balkans television is continuing its expansion in the region. On Monday, March 24, a dedicated channel was launched in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and broadcasting began in Montenegro, where the Newsmax Balkans bureau has been significantly expanded.
In less than three months since its launch, the Newsmax Balkans portal has achieved great success - winning 7th place in the audience vote for the best regional news portal of 2024, while the jury ranked it in 8th place.
Ruddy, a close associate of U.S. President Donald Trump, praised the work being done in Serbia under the leadership of President Vucic.
According to him, what impresses him when he visits Serbia — and he said he has been there several times — is "the incredible economic growth, the volume of international business coming into Serbia, and the scale of international trade."
"You just go to the airport, and there are flights from all over the world. That’s an incredible story. I think President Vucic has done a tremendous job here. And I’m very impressed by what’s happening," Ruddy concluded.
