Representatives of the Serb List expressed concern over a series of unilateral moves by Albin Kurti’s regime, which they said are aimed at expelling the Serbian population from the region through institutional and ethnically motivated pressure.
According to a statement, the meeting particularly addressed the illegal takeover of water supply companies in North Mitrovica and Zubin Potok and the risks that act entails, including the threat of a humanitarian crisis, given that the regional water supply from South Mitrovica lacks the capacity, resources, and – especially – the trust of the Serbian community to manage water distribution, particularly for the Clinical-Hospital Center, kindergartens, schools, faculties, and student dormitories.
The Serb List representatives presented concrete proposals for resolving the situation, which include the urgent reinstatement of all employees to their positions in order to ensure safe water access for all communities.
A compromise solution was also proposed, based on real needs and professional expertise, in the interest of all citizens.
During the talks, Hill reiterated the U.S. Embassy’s concern over the sudden closure of institutions and the risk to the provision of essential services in Kosovo.
He emphasized that leaders on all sides and institutions must act responsibly and in accordance with the needs of all citizens.
