What is the cause of the high prices in Serbia, why are they among the highest in the region, and why are Serbian products often cheaper on the shelves of markets in neighboring countries than in their country of origin?
If we take into account the fact that some countries in the region – primarily Croatia and Slovenia – are EU members and subject to much stricter and more sensitive regulations, that would be one explanation.
