"We also discussed the situation in the region and we both emphasized the importance of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) for the entire region. We agreed on the necessity of maintaining peace and stability and on occasionally organizing joint actions toward that goal," Vucic added.

He further expressed confidence that, in the coming weeks, Serbia could become part of the unified European payment area, which would significantly facilitate financial transactions.

According to Vucic, EU representatives expect the next Serbian government to be pro-European.

European Commissioner Marta Kos described her meeting with Vucic in Brussels as constructive, stating that they discussed concrete steps in Serbia’s EU accession process and the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

"I had a constructive meeting with President Aleksandar Vucic. We discussed specific steps on Serbia's path to the EU, the implementation of the Growth Plan, and reaffirmed our expectations for Serbia’s clear alignment with the EU," Kos stated on X.

She added that, in the discussion, she emphasized that enlargement is a process involving society as a whole. "This is not possible without a strong civil society and independent media. That is the best way forward," Kos concluded.
