Serbian Citizen Alon Ohel Among the First Hostages Released by Hamas, Vucic Publishes His Photo

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric welcomed the release of Israeli-Serbian citizen Alon Ohel, who had been held captive by Hamas for more than two years.

President Vucic welcomed Ohel on the social network X.

"Alon Ohel, you fought through 738 days of darkness and won. Welcome home, dear friend - your strength inspires us all. Idit and Kobi, embrace your son. The nightmare is over. Serbia is grateful to Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff, and Benjamin Netanyahu - leaders who bring freedom when it matters most. Stability is the only way forward", Vucic wrote.

Djuric wrote on X that Ohel and his family are reunited after two years and five days in captivity.

"Thank you all for your support, faith, and perseverance. Many thanks to President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian government, the governments of Israel and Germany, and everyone else for their concrete support from the very beginning. A well-deserved heroic welcome to U.S. President Donald Trump in Tel Aviv", Djuric stated.

Ohel was attending the Nova music festival near Re’im on October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel. His family revealed in April that they had received information from released hostages that Ohel is now blind in one eye.
