Dragan Simeunovic Appointed New Ambassador of Serbia to Romania

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has signed a decree appointing Professor Dragan Simeunovic of the Faculty of Political Sciences as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Romania.

The decree was issued pursuant to Article 112, paragraph 1, item 5 of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia and was signed on December 24.

According to the provisions of the decree, it enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette, that is, on December 27.

Dragan Simeunovic will represent the Republic of Serbia in Romania in this capacity.

Simeunovic (72) is a Serbian university professor, political scientist, and researcher, with a long-standing career in political science, security studies, and contemporary international relations.

He is a full professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences (FPN) at the University of Belgrade, where he has held numerous significant academic positions, including Dean of the Faculty. He is regarded as one of the founders of security studies in Serbia as a distinct academic and educational discipline.

Professor Simeunovic is the author and co-author of numerous scholarly articles, studies, and books in the fields of politics, political violence, terrorism, national and international security, and contemporary political systems.

His works have been published in both domestic and international academic journals, and he has frequently participated in professional and scientific conferences in Serbia and abroad.

In addition to his academic work, he has served as an analyst and advisor in the fields of security and politics and has often appeared in public as a commentator on political and international affairs.

With his appointment as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Romania, Professor Simeunovic begins a diplomatic career in which he is expected to leverage his academic and professional experience to strengthen bilateral relations between Serbia and Romania.
